Ten units were built new for VR, while a further six joined the fleet second-hand from the State Electricity Commission of Victoria; despite carrying SEC livery and numbering, there's no record that these six ever actually worked SEC traffic - it appears VR leased them from new and later took ownership outright. All sixteen locomotives were built in the UK by the Dick, Kerr Works. IDR Models is recreating the VR F class in HO scale (1:87.1), spanning five distinct body variations to capture the class across its long service life.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ePreorders for the VR \/ SEC F class are open now, with the range currently at the assembly stage.
