This 1\/32 scale die-cast model from Corgi represents RL249 \/ YP-E, the aircraft being recreated by \u003cstrong\u003eThe People’s Mosquito\u003c\/strong\u003e project with the aim of returning a flying Mosquito to the UK airshow circuit.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eFollowing the tragic loss of Mosquito RR299 at Barton Airport in 1996, Britain was left without an airworthy Mosquito available for public display. The People’s Mosquito was established as a registered charity to change this, bringing together public support, corporate involvement and dedicated volunteers to manufacture and rebuild an authentic example of the iconic aircraft.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe project is based in Rye, East Sussex, where the team is constructing a Mosquito in the UK for the first time in more than 70 years.
