Bachmann originated in America from 1833 by Henry Carlisle who started the company as a vanity manufacturer. It wasn't until 1948 with the input and acquisition of the Kader Company that Bachmann began truly manufacturing model trains. And to this day they have grown to be one of the largest manufacturers of trains, rail, locomotives, scenery and more!
